Imperfect

How perfect is perfect. Getting things right, pleasing the One, right living... Yes we know life isn't about living by rules and regulations. After all, it's for freedom that we are set free.

What makes us feel that we've missed the mark? Did someone wave the finger or furrow brows in disapproval?

I want to progress. Now, it's easy to grow comfortable where one is. Yet it's tough to conquer new ground. Vision, goals, strategy...it takes effort--time, energy, resources, teamwork.

Gotta be clear where I'm heading. It's becoming clearer, but so is the task list.

Like lego bricks--okay, real bricks, lay the foundation, pillars, walls, doors and windows of your dream one by one.

Some days it feels like you're just mixing cement, other days it's like a tonne of bricks on your back, and sometimes there's someone yelling at you from above, and other times you just want to slack off.

Whatever it is, watch for what you're building, how you're building, because your building will be tested--in this life and on that Day.

Who are you fighting for? What are you fighting for? Why are you fighting?

Onward, onward, onward.

Remembering

Leafing through yearbooks, recalling faces, places and events, I have to dig deep to refresh memories of days long past.

These days, I'm straining to clear today's demands while trying to be certain of tomorrow's hopes.

The question always remains: What am I living for? How do I get to those distant dreams?

Through faith and obedience, someone pointed out over a text message.

Life, a series of steps and hopefully few missteps, is--should be--about moving forward, onward...

Sermon after sermon, day after day, change and transformation come through decision, dedication and dogged drive.

I wish...for closer company to see one through.

Thoughts on a slightly cool evening.

Showers

Courage, commitment, creativity and conduct--lessons of the past 3 weeks.

#1 - Courage - Do you dare to pursue what you want? Wait, do you know what you want?? Do SOMETHING even if it costs you. Why else would you bother, if not for a life well-lived?

#2 - Commitment - What takes highest priority? Is that thing/activity/habit really so important? Can you re-evaluate and re-order your life?

#3 - Creativity - Creating something from, well, not always nothing. But can you think alternatives and possibilities? And always consider win-win solutions, especially for the ones you serve? What are the goals anyway? What avenues are available to you?

#4 - Conduct - You affect the environment, i.e. other persons, the atmosphere. Too often we neglect this. And what attitude do you carry? Lone ranger? Meek servant? Warm, genuine personality who's available to connect?

Happy-ness gotta be pursued. So, pursue it with all your heart!
